April 10, 2016 Rider University Invitational
Despite the temperatures and changed race day that they faced, Nyack Track and Field performed with excellence this past weekend at the Rider University Invitational. The meet was originally supposed to take place on Saturday April 9th but due to extremely cold weather predictions and the chance of snow the meet was postponed to the next day, April 10th.
There were many Season Bests this past weekend. Sophomores, Ariana Nash and Stefani Ritter ran the 1500m in 5:07.46 and 5:08.29 respectively. While freshman, Zach Trador, ran his 1500-meter race in 4:27.14
Field events saw Personal Bests as well. Junior Sam Viau threw 30.52m in discus while Alexa Ojeda threw 8.47m in shot put.
The Nyack Warriors Track and Field team is seeing so much improvement as the season progresses. Thrower, Alexa Ojeda stated, "Despite a lot of change, injuries, and sickness, the team still gave their best and pushed themselves. I'm proud to be a part of a team that works so hard!".
With two meets left in the season the Warriors are excited to take on the challenges ahead of them.
