PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 27, 2013)
The Nyack men's cross country team took a 5th place team finish at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships.
Wilmington University for the second year in a row won the team championship, sweeping the top-5 and won the conference title with a perfect score of 15. Wildcat leader, Richie Mitten, claimed the individual title with a finish time of 26:43 for the 5 mile course.
Senior, Joubert Derival (Spring Valley, NY) was Nyack's first runner through the finish with a time of 28:35 beating his previous Belmont course record of 29:27 from earlier in the season. Derival Came home 17th overall.
Rounding out the men's top-5 was Camden Lawrence and teammate Robert Lafond in a Warrior fight to the finish where Lafond crossed the line first in 30:19 and Lawrence one second after in 30:20 for the hilly 5-miler.
Freshman Stephen Baily closed out the Warriors with an eleven second course PR of 32:42.
Dr. Gordon Jackson distributed the 2013 Anne Jackson Memorial Team Sportsmanship Award to University of the Sciences for the women's side and the sportsmanship award which was given to Bloomfield College on the men's side.

Nyack will compete next in two weeks on Sunday, November 10, 2013 when they race at the NCAA East Regional Championship at Franklin Park in Boston, MA. It will mark the men's cross country team's 11th consecutive appearance in the NCAA regional meet as a team.
