Nyack XC comes in second, Mirtile wins Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship

Philadelphia, PA - The Nyack Men's Cross-Country Team previewed their conference course at the 38th Annual Philadelphia Metro Championship. Due to the severe humidity, the Nyack Men's Cross-Country Team ran a 5k instead of their usual 8k.

Leading a field of 90 runners, Nyack Junior Ian Mirtile took 1st place, beating the 2nd place runner by 17 seconds. Junior Thomas Trott came in 9th with a time of 18:06 followed by Sophomore Joseph Girard in 11th with a time of 18:08. Senior Mateusz Gacik came in 12th place with a time of 18:13 and Sophomore Zach Trador rounded out the scoring top-five in 17 th place with a time of 18:27. Sophomore Danson Kirwa came in 28th place with a time of 19:49 and Sophomore Kelvin Kiprop came in 39 th place with a time of 20:37.

Nyack will be back in action on September 24th, when the team travels to Stockton, NJ to run an 8k at the Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University.
