Cross Country Teams Compete at Vassar Ron Stonitsch Invite

RESULTS

The Warriors cross country teams traveled to Poughkeepsie for the Vassar Ron Stonitsch Invite, where the women finished seventh out of eight teams and the men finished ninth out of ten.

Zachary Trador had another strong showing for the Warriors this week, finishing first out of the Nyack men's team with a time of 20:04 and placing 19th overall in the 6k race. The next Nyack finisher was Thomas Trott with a time of 21:47 and a placement of 46th. Arthur Scrima, Kelvin Kiprop, and Benjamin Tse made up the rest of the Nyack men's team, coming in with times of 22:12, 22:57, and 27:31, respectively. Overall, Nyack had an average time of 22:54 and a combined score of 250 for the men, as they continue to work together as a team and qualify for placements.

For the women's team, all of the team members finished in the top 50 placements. Winnie Jepkoech led the Warriors in the 5k race with a time of 20:54 and an overall placement of 35th. Sidney Gall came in close behind her at 21:06 in 38th. Celeste DiNardo, Bornes Jerono, and Lydia Chepkieng finished with times of 21:42, 22:33, and 26:04. The average time for the Nyack team was 22:28 with a combined score of 215. The Warriors look forward to continuing their training in order to continue improving over the course of the season.
 
Next week, Nyack cross country will make the trip to the Delaware Invitational in Newark, DE
