WATERBURY, CT - Despite holding a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth, Post University rallied for a 5-2 win over the Nyack College softball team in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match-up Wednesday afternoon, followed by a 5-inning shutout to take the nightcap over the Warriors.

Inside The Game:
In the first game, the Nyack offense came alive right from the start, scoring 1 run in the top of the 1st. The inning was started with a single by Christine Kline (Midland Park, NJ), who was then moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt from Anna Shuman. Meghan Richards (Nanuet, NY) then hit a single to score Christine. Also in that inning was a single from Tori Flemming (Plano, TX).
The Warriors also scored in the top of the 3rd inning, and the offense was started off with a double from Elaina Vasquez (Gilroy, CA), who was then hit in with a single from Meghan Richards. Other hits from the game include singles by Ely Rivas, Kim Yano (Blauvelt, NY), and Anna Bailey (Milford, CT). The final score of game 1 was 5-2, with Post University pulling ahead in the 4th and 5th innings.
The second game was also lost, this time 9-0 in five innings. On the Warriors offense, the only hit of the game came from Tori Flemming, who hit a singe in the top of the 2nd inning. Otherwise the Post offense was strong, leading to the loss for the Warriors.
Nyack softball returns to action on Saturday, April 12, as the Warriors host Holt Family University. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3PM with game two tentatively set for 5PM at the Orangetown Little League Field in Orangeburg, NY.
