Softball Rally To Split Wins With Goldey-Beacom In Doubleheader

WILMINGTON, DE - The Nyack Warriors split today in their conference match against Goldey Beacom.

The Basics:

Inside The Game:
The first game was lost, with the final score being 10-5. The Warriors offense started off the top of the 1st inning by scoring 2 runs. Christine Kline started the game off right away witha single. Anna Shuman bunted her over to second base, and Meghan Richards hit a single to score Kline. Tori Flemming also had a double in the inning, scoring Richards. Goldey Beacom's offense also came out right from the start scoring  6 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, and then scoring an additional 1 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, and 1 in the fifth. Other hits by the Warriors include singles by Anna Shuman, Elaina Vasquez, Tesla Murillo, Meghan Richards, Kelsey Lyons, Kathleen McClain, and Kim Yano. Total number of hits in the first game for the Warriors was 9.

The second game was a victory for the Warriors, with the final score being 1-0. The only run of the game was scored by Elaina Vasquez, who was walked along with Kim Yano in the top of the 2nd inning. Kathleen McClain then hit a double to drive in Vasquez. The only other hit of the game was a single from Anna Shuman. The Warriors played a flawless defensive game to bring home the victory.

Warrior Softball is set to travel to Philadelphia University on Monday April 21st for doubleheaders scheduled to begin at 2:30pm and 4:30pm.
