PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Nyack College softball team traveled for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match-up with opponents from Philadelphia University. Big efforts from the Warriors would not be enough as the Rams came out on top, taking both games and improving their overall record to 22-10.

Inside The Game:
The first game was lost 11-7. The Warriors started off the game strong, scoring two runs in the top of the 1st inning. Christine Kline started off the game with a single. Anna Shuman then bunted and Kline scored on an error from Shuman's bunt. Shuman also scored on a wild pitch. Philly U then answered offensively, scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning on 3 hits and 3 walks.
Other Nyack hits of the game came from Tesla Murillo with a single, Meghan Richards with a single and a double, Elaina Vasquez with a single, Kim Yano with a single, and Christine Kline with another single. The other runs of the game were scored by Anna Shuman, Meghan Richards (2), Kathleen McClain, and Kim Yano.
The second game was also a loss 10-2 in 5 innings. Anna Shuman started off the top of the 1st inning with a single, and then stole 2nd base. She scored on a single by Elaina Vasquez. Other singles of the game came from Kim Yano, Hannah Lake, and Meghan Richards. Richards also had a double, and Christine Kline hit a home run in the top of the 5th inning, scoring the only other run of the game. Philly U scored their runs on 12 hits.
Warrior Softball is set to host Mercy College on Thursday April 24th. The non-conference doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at 5pm and 7pm at the Orangetown Little League Field in Orangeburg, NY. See here for complete game schedule.
