Nyack, NY- The women's basketball team was defeated by Post University by a score of 46-73 tonight in their first CACC matchup of the season.
Nyack would get out to an early 9-7 lead at the 13:31 mark in the first but Post's three points shooting helped the Eagles go up 19-16 with 4:23 remaining in the first half. Nyack would then surrender 11 straight points to end the half. The Warriors shot 4-for-26 in the first half, while Post was 9-for-38 from the floor.
The second half saw a surge in Post's offense when they went on a 14-1 run over four minutes to make the score 42-70 with 2 minutes remaining. Nyack shot 14-for-57 on the night and were 15-for-32 from the line.
Junior Ashleigh Jones finished with 9 points on the night with a solid 9 rebounds. Freshman forward Jamie McKeither was a steady 4-4 from the line while junior Ashley Tallman registered 8 points, swooshing 2-3 three point attempts.
The loss brings the Warrior's overall record to 0-3 and 0-1 in conference play. They will look to rebound this Friday as they play non-conference opposition NYIT at Orangeburg, N.Y. for a 6PM start.
