Merrimack Downs Women's Basketball

Orangeburg, NY - The women's basketball team fell to Merrimack College in a non-conference match up at the Dominican tournament earlier this afternoon.

With the score tied 5-5 early in the contest, Merrimack would rally with a 12-2 run to take a 17-7 advantage five minutes into the contest.  Nyack would pull within 7 points just before the half to make the score 28-35, but Merrimack would have the final say in the half, regaining their ten point advantage at 28-38.

Nyack would be unable to cut into the Merrimack lead as MC pulled away to an 80-50 victory.  Khamari Tellis would lead all Nyack scorers with 15 total points on 6-15 shooting from the floor, while also totaling a team best 4 assists.  Rachell Burnett would pull in a team high 7 rebounds in the losing effort.

Nyack is back in action next Saturday when they host St. Thomas Aquinas College at 7 PM.
