Lady Warriors Dropped By Dominican College, 47-66
ORANGEBURG, N.Y - (Jan. 31st 2013) The Warrior Women's Basketball Team took on their local foes, Dominican College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. This would be the first regular season meeting between the two teams as the Chargers would take a 47-66 victory.
Nyack began the 1st half down, as Dominican would score 7 unanswered points to open up an early advantage. The Chargers would continue to stretch the lead and end the last 5 minutes of the period on a 9-12 run to go into the locker room with a 20-38 gain.
Dominican would begin the 2nd half on a 2-12 run to grab their largest lead of the game at 28-points, 22-50. The Lady Warriors would cut their deficit to 14 with 3:27 remaining but were then held scoreless for the next few remaining minutes. Nyack would then add 4 more points to the score board and by way of two made free throws an a last second jump shot. Unable to capture the victory, Dominican took a 47-66 win, their tenth CACC win of the season.
Senior, Khamari Tellis (Chicago, IL) lead the Nyack team with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in the losing effort.
The Lady Warriors continue on to their third and final game of the week against Wilmington University on Saturday, February 2nd. Tipoff is set for 1pm in Wilmington, DE.
