RUTHERFORD, NJ (January 14, 2014)
The Nyack women's basketball team visited Felician College for their second matchup of the season on Tuesday evening. The Eagles would secure a 66-61 victory over the Warriors in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division showdown at Job Gymnasium.
Nyack trailed going into the halftime break as the score reflected 27-23. Warrior Tori Trador (Seminol, FL) who recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists on the night, would nail a clutch three-pointer to bring the Warriors within two points with under thirty seconds left in the 2nd half, but Felician forced a turnover with three seconds on the clock.
The Falcons would net three points by way of free throws to secure the 66-61 game win and sweep the season series 2-0.
Jessica Logemann (Seminol, FL) led all scorers for Nyack with a career high 20 points off the bench on 7-of-9 shooting including 6-of-8 from three-point range to go with a season best 4 rebounds. Classmate Audrey Matteson (Monticello, IN) would also record double figures on the night - 10 points including 6 rebounds and 3 steals respectively.
Nyack drops to 4-12 on the year and 3-6 in CACC play while Felician (6-9) improves their league record to 4-4.
Trina Plummer led her Lady Falcon team with 18 points on the night along with contributions from classmates Jac'Quel Saunders - 14 points, Sierra McDuffie - 11 points, and Ashley Morris - 10 points.
Felician's Morris and Peguero split a game-high 9 rebounds each while Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) yanked down a team-high 7 boards for Nyack.
Warrior basketball will take a week off and are scheduled to play Bloomfield on the road next week Wednesday, January 22nd at 6pm.
