SPARKILL, NY - The Nyack College women's basketball team visited St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference game at Aquinas Hall. The Spartans would take the victory, 82-68, for their first win of the season while the Warriors drop to 1-3 overall.
Junior Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) led Nyack with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds to tally her third double-double on the season. McKeither also added one assists, one steal, and a block while classmate Janay Truiett (Baltimore, MD) contributed with 11 points in twenty minutes of action. Freshman Alyssa Gatti (Brooklyn, NY) and junior Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) combined for 18 points on the afternoon and Makins would record three steals, two assists, and five rebounds coming off the bench.
In the game Nyack shot 41.5 percent from the field and would outrebound STAC by a margin of 42-41. The Spartans had their bench outscore the Warrior bench 32-26.
Women's basketball are next scheduled to face Queens College away on Tuesday November 25th as they continue with their non-conference play. Tip-off is set for a 6:00PM start. Fans can tune in here for live stats via Queens Athletics.
