PHILADELPHIA, PA - Nyack College fell behind by 16 points at halftime of its 80-56 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball loss to host University of the Sciences on Saturday afternoon at the Bobby Morgan Arena.
The Devils were ahead 6-0 before McKeither's layup put Nyack on the score board with 16:07 left in regulation. From there the Warriors would get within one (8-7), but USciences began to slowly pull away. The Devils ended the period with seven straight points to take a 39-23 lead going into the locker room break.
In the second half Nyack continued to trail as USciences would begin to open up their advantage and used a 9-0 run to be ahead 56-35 with 09:54 left to play. Nyack would battle their way back but USciences would put the game away for good after gaining as much as a 26 point lead.
Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) led the Warriors with 13 points in 25 minutes of action off the bench while adding five rebounds, two assists, and three blocks. Shabreka Edwards (Ashburn, GA) Chipped in with 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field for Nyack and teammate Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) would tally 9 points in the losing effort.
Brianne Traub led USciences with a game-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds. Isabella Ross pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds while Jessica Sylvester recorded 12 points and Laura Trisch chipped in with 10 points for the Devils.
Nyack women's basketball will continue their CACC play Friday December 19th as the Warriors travel to take on North Division opponents from Caldwell College. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 PM at the George R. Newman Center in Caldwell, NJ.
