NYACK, NY - The Nyack College women's basketball team kicked off it's 2015 calendar year with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) home contest against Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday afternoon.

Nyack would drop the match as the Lightning would capture their fourth league win of the season.

Nyack began the first half with domination as the Warriors held a lead up until the last nine minutes when the Lightning rallied for a comeback that tied the contest 17-17. Goldey-Beacom continued on a run to net the next seven points by 6:56 to take the lead (24-17). Another series of GBC runs had the Warriors trailing by as many as ten points and by the end of the half, Nyack would be down 38-29.

Goldey-Beacom continued to maintain their advantage in the second half as they outscored Nyack 47-35. Warriors Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) and Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) would combine for 16 points but by the end of regulation, Nyack would fall to the Lightning 85-64.

Makins led the Warriors tying her recent season-best of 16 points to go along with eight rebounds, six steals, and two assists. Teammate Mckeither contributed with a recording of 14 points, six boards, and three assists. Alyssa Gatti (Brooklyn, NY) dished five assists for the Warriors.

Five Goldey-Beacom ladies scored in double figures including Lillian Chukwueze and Britani Bryson who recorded double-doubles on the evening. Chukwueze led the lightning with a game-high 19 points and 12 rebounds. Lexi Bruno would dish a game-best seven assists in the winning effort.
