NYACK, NY - The Nyack College women's basketball team served as host on to Bloomfield College, who is currently #1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division standings.
The Bears utilized a twenty-seven point cushion at halftime (45-18) to defeat Nyack at Bowman Gymnasium on Wednesday evening. With the loss, Nyack drops to 1-15 overall and 1-9 in league play while Bloomfield improves to 9-7 on the season and 7-2 in the conference.
Warrior Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) led the Warriors with a game-high 18 points while teammates Alyssa Gatti (Brooklyn, NY) and Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) combined for 22 points. Makins also registered her first double-double on the season with her game-high ten rebounds.
For the Bears, Tianna Smith recorded 17 points to lead her team on 6-of-12 shooting from the field along with 2-of-3 coming from three-point range while converting 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. Morgan Taylor tallied 15 points for Bloomfield and yanked eight boards.
Bloomfield outshot the Warriors 40.7 percent (22-of-54) to 32.7 percent (16-of-49) and won the rebounding battle by a margin of 43-31.
Nyack is scheduled to travel and face south division opponents from Wilmington University, January 24th in another Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) showdown. Tip-off is set for 1PM.
