LAKEWOOD, NJ - In a game that featured six ties and three lead changes, Warrior Women's Hoops would go into halftime tied 33-33 and battle hard in the second half.
By the end of regulation, Nyack would come up short against Georgian Court University; falling with a 69-66 decision to the Lions on the road.
Warrior Jessica Logemann (Seminole, FL), who has missed nine games due to an injury, made her debut back as the Junior registered a season-best and team-high 16 points to go along with four rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
GCU's Tahira Matthews scored a game-high 23 points and yanked fifteen boards to garner her double-double on the afternoon while two more Lions scored in double-figures en route to the win.
After being down by as many as twelve points (30-18) in the first half, Nyack would conclude the half with an 11-0 run to tie the game at 33 apiece. The second half featured the Warriors' first lead at 10:38 by way of a Kelli Smoot (Baltimore, MD) layup as the score reflected 49-48.
The teams continued to alternate baskets and keep the game close but Nyack would never see another lead and would get edged out by the Lions 69-66.
Both teams scored 19 points from turnovers however Nyack would force more GCU turnovers (19) compared to the fourteen that were forced by the Lions. Despite Nyack scoring more second chance points (11) and registering more points in the paint (18), Georgian Court would own the rebounding battle by a margin of 52-42.
