Women's Basketball Topped by Concordia in 66-64 CACC Upset

BRONXVILLE, NY - The Nyack College women's basketball team traveled to the Meyer Athletic Center for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle against Concordia College on Tuesday evening.

In a game that featured eighteen ties and twelve lead changes, the Warriors would net the last four baskets of the first half to tie the contest 36-36 going into the locker room break. By the second half both teams continued to put up a tough fight as no one got within more than a four point lead.

By the 2:47 mark the game was tied 62-62. Khadijah Donaldson made a layup for the Clippers to bring them ahead by two (64-62) and by 1:18 Warrior Tori Trador (Seminole, FL) would score a layup to tie the match for the last time, 64-64.

During the final closing seconds of regulation there were turnovers and missed shots on both sides. With 3.2 left on the clock, Jessica Rosalbo put the game away with a Clipper jumpshot from the elbow, 66-64. Freshman Alyssa Gatti (Brooklyn, NY) would miss a three pointer during the next possession to win the game for the Warriors, thus allowing Concordia earned the 66-64 victory on the evening.

Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) led Nyack with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three steals while teammate Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) registered her fourth double-double on the season with 15 points and ten boards to go along with a game-high four assists and five steals. Shabreka Edwards (Ashburn, GA) and Trador combined for 16 points in the loosing effort.

As a team, Concordia outshot Nyack 46.3-percent (25-of-54) to 35.8-percent (19-of-53) but the Warriors won the rebounding battle by a margin of 39-33. 

Concordia's Donaldson tied game-highs with Nyack's McKeither, scoring 16 points coming off the bench on shooting 5-of-6 from the floor while converting a perfect 6-for-6 from behind the charity stripe. Rosalbo registered 13 points and Julianne Wilkinson chipped in with 11 points on the evening for the Clippers.
