How It Happened:
Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) recorded a double-double for the Warriors by way of 20 points and 13 rebounds in the winning effort.
After a first quarter mainly dominated by Daemen, Nyack quickly rebounded in the second quarter to fight for a tie and establish their lead at the quarter's conclusion. The Warriors entered the third quarter with a score of 32-23, a nine point lead over Daemen. Daemen would combat the lead with a variance of free throws, lay-ups and field goals, to close the score gap for the fourth quarter. Nyack managed to sustain their lead, despite Daemen's efforts, closing the quarter with a score of 49-46.
Daemen entered the fourth quarter determined to close the quarter with a victory, however, Nyack was equally driven. The two opponents fought for control of the scoreboard, until 4 minutes remained and Nyack managed to successful procure several opportunities to score. Once the lead was in the hands of the Warriors, the team pushed through to the buzzer. Nyack secured their first win of the 2015-2016 campaign with a final score of 64-56 over Daemen.
