Nyack Women's Basketball faced Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, the Post University Eagles, in their first conference contest of the 2015-2016 campaign.  In a thrilling battle to the final seconds of the game, the Warriors managed to emerge victorious over the Eagles starting their conference run at 1-0.

How It Happened:
Senior Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) posted the top score for Nyack earning 16 points for the night, as well as 13 rebounds, 9 offensive and 4 defensive.  Makins was closely followed by sophomore Kelli Smoot (Baltimore, MD) who posted 15 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals.  Freshman Lisa Fields (Bronx, NY) capitalized on her 11 minutes of play to earn 4 steals, 1 assist, and 5 points while shooting 100% from the foul line.

Nyack manufactured significantly more opportunities than Post to score, which directly correlated to their win for the evening. Smoot and Makins established Nyack's lead in the first quarter.  With 1 minute remaining for the first quarter, Nyack sustain a 7 point lead at 15-8.  IN the final seconds, Post would increase their score to 14 bringing the score gap to 1 point.  The Eagles stole the 2nd quarter surpassing Nyack's lead and claiming it for their own.  The quarter would expire with Post leading 32-26; their largest lead of the night. In the third quarter, the Warriors prevented Post from scoring for the first 2 minutes of play, allowing them to regain the lead.  Though Post came close, and were able to tie the game once, Nyack remained the lead through the quarter.

The final quarter was riddled with close calls of lead exchange, but Nyack managed to hold fast to the top, earning an 8 point lead.  Post steadily climbed back into a formidable score.  With 23 seconds left on the clock the game had compressed to a 1 point difference in score.  Fortunately, Nyack was able to utilize their free throws to extend their lead to 2 points.  Post put up a 3 point buzzer shoot to win the match, but fell short of claiming a victory.
