The Nyack College Women's Basketball team traveled to upstate New York to take on Binghamton University where the Warriors would fall to the Division I Bearcats by a 65-33 final score in exhibition play.
How It Happened:
Senior Jamie McKeither (Laurel, MD) earned her spot as the score leader for the Warriors with 16 points posted against Binghamton. McKeither also contributed 6 rebounds, 4 on defense, and 1 steal for the match. Senior Raven Makins (Laurel, MD) earned the team high of rebounds with 8 through the exhibition game, 5 of which were snagged on defense. Makins notched 9 points of her own, shooting 100% from the free throw line, and had 2 steals. With 3 steals, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 points senior Tori Trador (Seminole, FL) made her team contributions across 32 minutes of play stabilizing the Warrior court.
In the first 10 minutes of play, the Warriors managed to sneak 2 points through Binghamton's stalwart defense and found themselves in a 22 point deficit. Upon the beginning of the second quarter, Nyack emerged with new life, manufacturing more opportunities to score. Halfway through the quarter the Warriors had limited to the score gap to 20 points, ending the time period just 19 points behind. The third quarter saw Binghamton regain momentum establishing a 32 point lead by the clock's expiration, leaving the Warriors with 10 more minutes of play. In the final 10 minutes, Nyack procured 13 more points, however, the score gap remained at 32 points. The game would conclude with a final score of 65-33 in favor of Binghamton.
Women's Basketball will return back to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Saturday, December 19th when they travel to take on Felician University. Gametime is set for 12:30pm at the New Jersey campus.
