The Nyack College Women's Basketball team never led in the game, as the Warriors suffered a 66-51 home non-conference loss against the visiting Mercy College Mavericks on Monday afternoon. Nyack is now 5-7 overall while Mercy ups its overall mark to 3-8 on the season.

How It Happened:
In the first quarter Mercy outscored the Warriors 15-7 followed by a 9-0 run beginning the second quarter to extend the lead over Nyack to 27-9. With less than four minutes remaining in the second quarter, Ravin Makins (Laurel, MD) would net a free throw to put Nyack at double digits for the first time in the game (29-10). By the locker room break, Mercy used a series of short runs to slowly chip away at stretching the score. The final score at the break reflected 37-15 in favor of the Mavericks.

The second and third  quarters would be more of the same as Nyack continued to struggle offensively, having shot 29.6 percent from the floor which included only shooting 1-of-20 from three-point range and 42.1 percent from behind the charity stripe (8-for-19). By the end of regulation, the final score showed 66-51 as the Warriors struggled to make a comeback.

Warrior Makins led her teams with a double-double, pouring in 15 points while snatching a team-high 15 rebounds. The lead scorer for the Mavericks was Chi-la Bady with 16 points while dishing a game-high 5 assists.
