Nyack, NY – The Nyack College women's basketball team was upended by the Philadelphia University Rams on Saturday afternoon in a CACC match at Bowman Gym. The loss drops the Warriors' record to 3-12, 2-7 CACC, while Philadelphia improves to 11-8, 6-4 CACC.
The first quarter saw both teams battling for the upper hand. The Rams would be on the board first before the Warriors wouldd ahead with 4 consecutive points. Both teams battled back and forth in the first period, which eventually finished with a score of 14-17.
The Rams would use a 5-2 run with the beginning of the second quarter to extend their lead to 8 with 8:13 to go in the first half. Philadelphia would extend their lead to 14 until halftime. The score was 34-20.
The Warriors would fight their way back into the game during the early minutes of the third quarter with a 9-4 to cut the Rams' lead to 9. However, Philadelphia was able to extend their lead back to 16 points in the remaining minutes of the third quarter.
The Rams would continue to extend their lead during the fourth quarter. The game finished with a score of 70-49 in favor of the visitors.
The Warriors will be back in action this Wednesday when they host to Bloomfield College for a CACC match at 5:30pm.
