USciences Controls Paint in 61-43 Win Over Nyack

USciences used decisive advantages in rebounds (35-20) to key a 61-43 victory over Nyack in a CACC matchup, Saturdayafternoon at Bobby Morgan Arena in Pennsylvania.

Jordan Vitelli (17 points) and Sarah Abbonizio (11 points) spearheaded the Devil's interior attack, as USciences improves to 13-3 on the season.

Nyack drops to 3-20, 2-15 CACC on the year. The Lady Warriors were outrebounded and committed 12 turnovers, leading to 10 UScience points.

The Warriors' early-season shooting woes continued against one of the CACC's leading defensive blockers, Trisch. Nyack shot 40.0 percent (18-of-44) from the field, 23.1 percent (3-of-13) from three-point range and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from the foul line for the game.

Kelli Smoot led the Lady Warriors with twelve points, passing her season points per game average. Yamalis Villegas and Tayelor McCalister chipped in seven points each as well as two and three rebounds respectively.

USciences led by double digits the rest of the way, as Vitelli helped keep the Lady Warriors at bay. She shot just 5-of-10 on the day, but hit five triples and scored seventeen points during the game for the Devils, sending USciences to victory in its inaugural meeting with the Lady Warriors.

Two of Nyacks's top statistics for the game included bench points (18-8) and their shot percentage (40.0%-36.7%).
