Nyack, NY - In a game where the Warriors never trailed, the Nyack College women's basketball team defeated the Washington Adventist Shock 55-37 in their meeting Tuesday evening. With the win, the Warriors improved to 4-20 on the season and 2-15 in CACC play.
Warriors quickly jumped out to a lead in the contest. Freshman Bryanna Brown was a key factor in the quick start for the Warriors, totaling five points and one assist in the first quarter. Brown finished the game leading all scorers with 15 points.
Lights out shooting propelled the Warriors to a commanding 30-15 lead at the half. Both Warriors, Bryanna Brown and Kelli Smoot were able to lead the Warriors in double digit points, 15 and 13 respectively. Jocelin Wright was also a top performer for the Warriors, finishing the contest with five rebounds of her own.
Washington Adventist was only able to trim the Warriors lead down to within 18 points by the fourth quarter. The Warriors forced a total of 28 turnovers in the game.
The Warriors will look to stay hot as they face off the Chargers to take on conference rival Dominican College next Saturday. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
