Women's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Holy Family Despite Strong First Half

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College women's basketball traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon to take on the Holy Family University Tigers in a cross-divisional conference match up. 

The Basics:
Final: Nyack 47, Holy Family 69
Records: NC (3-12, 1-6), HFU (5-9, 3-3)

Game Summary:

  • game went back and forth in the first quarter with several lead changes and tied scores, before the Tigers slowly pulled away to outscore the Warriors by four in the first with a score of 11-15
  • the Tigers enjoyed the better start into the second quarter, but the Warriors fought back and slowly chipped away on the the Tigers' lead to finish the half with a two-point deficit
  • Nyack started the third with a three-pointer which earned them the first lead since the first quarter, but the Tigers went off to outscore Nyack 21-8 in the third quarter
  • with a 15-point deficit to overcome the Warriors fought back in the fourth but were ket at bay by the Tigers who finished the game with a score of 47-69

Key Performances:
Elle Nittinger and Kyla Given both reached double-digit points for the day with 11 and 10 points.

Nyack will be back on the road this upcoming Wednesday when they travel to New Jersey to square off with the Caldwell University Cougars in another CACC clash at 3:30pm.
