Lakewood, NJ - The Nyack College women's basketball team traveled to New Jersey on Saturday afternoon to square off with the Georgian Court University Lions in a CACC cross-divisional match.

Game Summary:

  • the first quarter was full of action on both ends of the court with several tied scores and lead changes; the Lions would eventually take a one-point advantage into the first break
  • Nyack struggled from the field in the second quarter and fell behind by 12 before halftime, 22-34
  • Nyack came back in the third and cut the Lions' lead down to seven in a quarter that would finish with a score of 41-50
  • Nyack came within six in the final period, but was held off by the Lions who would secure the win with a final score of 58-68 

Key Performances:
Freshman Elle Nittinger led Nyack with 17 points and 10 rebounds recording her first career double-double. Kyla Given also reached double figures with 16 points, while securing eight rebounds and dishing out five assists.

Nyack will be back this upcoming Wednesday when they host the Bloomfield College Bears in their "Pink Game" at 5:30pm at Bowman Gymnasium.
