The Nyack College women's basketball team faced off in an away non conference game against Cheyney University. The Warriors fought for every point within the game but was unable to produce anything promising compared to Lock Haven's across the board consistent offense.
The beginning of the first quarter consisted of many tied scores and traded possessions. It wasn't until a time of 3:39 left in the quarter that the Warriors began to fall behind Lock Haven ending with a totaled score of 10-20. The Warrirors were 20% from the field and 0% from behind the arc, compared to Lock Haven's 47.4% from the field and 33.3% from behind the arc.
The second quarter began with the Warriors at a ten point deficit, but they dominated on both defense and offense, slowly catching up to the opposing team and tieing up the score at 20-20 on a jump shot by Jasmine Cruse. The score stayed consistent tied up for about two minutes of the quarter but then Nyack pulled ahead on a three pointer made by Jocelyn Wright. Lock Haven then tied up the score again at 23-23 and then pulled ahead of Nyack. Both teams continued to trade points for the rest of the quarter but at the end the Warriors had fallen behind with a totaled score of 29-35.
The third quarter of the game began with a layup by Kyla Given, giving the Warriors and jump start into the quarter. From there both teams had traded points continuously tieing up the score. It wasn't until a time of 5:39 that the Warriors began to fall behind Lock Haven, ending the quarter with a ten point deficit and a totaled score of 44-54.
The fourth and final quarter, the Warriors had a challenge ahead of them since they began ten points down.Lock Haven was the first team to add on their score in this quarter, making it even harder for the Warriors to come back. The Warriors fought to bridge the point gap but was unable to produce anything promising ending the game in a loss with a final score of 75-88. The Warriors were 43.3% from the field and 43.5% from behind the arc and Lock Haven was 52.4% from the field and 16.7% from behind the arc for the entire game.
