The Nyack College women's basketball team competed in an away conference game today against Post University. The Warriors were forced to play defense throuhout most of the game as Post's offense was dominating the court. The Warriors were unable to score personal points into the double digits contributing to their loss with a final score of 35-86.
The Warriors fell behind early on in the first quarter finding themselves ten points behind with a few minutes left. The score totaled out at 11-18 at the end of this quarter. In the second quarter of the game, the Warriors spent most of it playing defense. It wasn't until half way through the quarter when the Warriors scored their first shot. As the Warriors fought to defend their basket, Post kept increasing the gap of points. The score totaled out at 20-45. The third quarter of the game played oout just like the last. Nyack only scored a total of seven points in this quarter as compared to Post's 27 points putting the score at 27-72 at the end of the quarter. In the fourth quarter of the game, both teams stayed relatively consistent in their performance ending the game with a loss for the Warriors.
Overall, the Warriors were 20.3% from the field, 7.7% from behind the arc and 60% in free throws. Offensively, Jocelin Wright scored the highest points for the team coming in with 7 total. Defensively, Kelsey McCaskill had 6 defensive rebounds and one steal.
