The Nyack College women's basketball team competed in a home conference game against Concordia College. In a game where the Warriors dominated in all areas, the opposing didn't stand a chance. The Warriors took the win with a final score of 72-67.
In the first quarter of the game, the Warriors found themselves in the lead early on. They were able to keep the lead until two minutes were left in the quarter when the opposing team made a layup that put them ahead of the Warriors. From there, Concordia continued to add to their score creating a point gap that the Warriors would need to come back from. The score totaled out at 23-16.
The second quarter of the game started with the Warriors behind by seven points but the Warriors quickly closed that gap. Three minutes into the quarter, Kyla Given made a three point jump shot that put the Warriors back in the lead. As the rest of the quarter played on, both teams had many opportunities to add to their score. In the end the score was 36-38 with the Warriors in the lead.
The third quarter of the game, both teams competed head-to-head for the upper hand. This quarter consisted of many tied scores and traded possessions. The score at the end of the quarter was 52-50 with Concordia in the lead.
In the final quarter of the game, the opposing team took the lead but the Warriors quickly came back and closed whatever gap the opposing team tried to create. With one minute left in the game, Jocelin Wright made a layup followed with a layup by Casiris Ruiz which solidified the win for the Warriors.
Overall, the Warriors were 50% from the field, 35.7% from behind the arc, and 55% in free throws. Offensively and defensively, Kyla Given led the team with 18 total points scored, ten total rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.
