The Nyack College women's basketball team competed in a home conference game today against USciences. The Warriors had a slow start to the game, making it challenging to come back as they trailed behind the opposing team the whole game. The Warriors lost the game with a final score of 63-45.
In the first quarter of the game, the Warriors found themselves trailing behind early on. Statistically USciences dominated the Warriors with a 63.3% from the field and 60% from behind the arc compared to Nyack's 30.8% from the field and 0% from behind the arc. At the end of the quarter, the score totaled out at 20-8.
In the second quarter of the game, the Warriors were unable to increase their numbers. USciences had decreased their numbers drastically only scoring a total of eleven points in this quarter. Nyack had scored eight but because they were already behind, it didn't help them catch up. The score totaled out at 31-16.
In the third quarter of the game, the Warriors found them 20 points behind and ended with a total score of 50-30. Going into the fourth quarter of the game, the Warriors managed increase their numbers and to score more points than the opposing team but it wasn't enough to secure the win.
Overall, the Warriors were 36.2% from the field, 16.7% from behind the arc, and 69.2% in free throws. Offensively and defensively Jasmine Cruse led the team with a total of 17 points, 8 rebounds, one block and one steal.
