NYACK, NY - The Lady Warrior lacrosse team hosted a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Post University where they fell 16-6 on Mosley Field.
Nyack started the game with a goal by Lauren Lebo within the first three minutes (1-0). However, the Eagles followed with three consecutive goals (1-3). Nyack returned with the draw control won by Lebo and the shot made by Victoria Lopez-Nash (2-3). Lebo tied the board by making a free position shot making the score refect 3-3. Within a span of ten minutes, Post managed to gain another four points and shortly after, Nash won the draw and Grace Orbine took advantage of a foul and makes a free position shot. With a little over five minutes on the clock, the Eagles take possession of the ball and scored five more points widening their lead and making the score at the end of the half 4-13.
The Warrior fought in the second half, but the Eagles continued with their lead. Post scored two more points by the half mark (4-15). With ten minutes left in the game, Stacey Cervantes scored after a yellow card on Post. 5-15, and then scored again five minutes later 6-15. With less than two minutes in the game, Post succeeds in another goal leaving the score 6-16 at the end of the period.
Overall, the Warriors and the Eagles matched in draw control. However, the Eagles led in shots, while the Warriors led in ground balls. Kathy Walker saved a total of 10 goals, and Shannon Young scored 5 points giving Post the most goals and saves of the game.
