NEW HAVEN, CT
Junior midfielder, Lauren Lebo (West Simsbury, CT), has been tabbed as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week; as announced by the league's first set first of weekly awards on Monday for the reporting period ending Sunday, March 1, 2015.
In the Warrior season opener against NE-10 opponents from American International College, Lebo scored her 102nd career goal in the first game of her junior year. Lebo shot at 62-percent in the 17-16 losing effort, scoring 5 of her 8 attempted goals. In addition to her play on attack. Lebo won a game-high 7 draw controls in the midfield and registered 3 ground balls on defense.
Lebo is currently featured in the CACC's Top-10 Individual Offense Leaders ranking 2nd in the conference for the category of goals scored per game, including being 4th in assists, 4th for shots taken per game, and is ranked 2nd in the league with the most points on the season (7). The top-3 of the top-10 leading spots are held by Warriors with teammates Karis Walborn (Nyack, NY) ranked at #1 with eight points and Victoria Silvers ranked at #3 with six points.
Lebo is currently tied at No. 5 in the NCAA Div. II national ranking for the most goals per game (5) and is tied at No. 3 in the nation for the most draws per game (7) this opening week. As a team, Nyack is also tied for 7th scoring offensively.
