LAX-4-LIFE: Warriors Raising Awareness for Suicide Prevention

LAX-4-LIFE: Warriors Raising Awareness for Suicide Prevention

On Tuesday March 31, 2015 the women's lacrosse team will serve as host to Chestnut Hill College for a CACC match taking place at 3:30pm.

The Warriors will wear special t-shirts during their pre-game warm up. The t-shirts are to help raise money for an organization called Lax-4-Life, "a national lacrosse campaign to provide and support programs geared toward adolescent and young adult suicide prevention awareness."

*Raise awareness for suicide prevention.
*Help aid those left behind after a suicide.
*Erase the stigma associated with suicide and depression.
*Understanding & assisting students with the pressures of life in high school & college.
*Provide resources & outlets for those dealing with depression, bullying or suicidal thoughts.
*Educate parents, coaches, students, and the community about warning signs and issues associated with suicide.

"We are all affected by suicide but it's never an easy topic to discuss. Joining with Lax-4-Life to raise awareness gives us a starting point to begin this vital conversation. As a team, we're wearing these t-shirts, remembering the many that have been lost to suicide in the past and in hopes of preventing it in the future," says Assistant Coach, Jane Dietrich.

The lady Warriors are thankful to have the opportunity to raise funds with the Lax-4-Life program and help spread awareness on such an important issue. We hope the whole campus will join us in prayer and spreading suicide prevention awareness.
