NYACK, NY - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team served as host to Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) where Nyack would fall 24-12 to the visiting Rams.
The Warriors began the match recognizing graduating seniors for the special roles they play on the team and their dedication. Players Karis Walborn, Alyssa Paddock, Madeline Barbarino, and Nicole Pilkerton were all honored before the game.
How It Happened:
The first half was a tightly contested half that saw neither team leading by more than two goals as the game recorded seven ties. Freshman Victoria Silvers scored a goal off a free position shot to give Nyack a 9-8 lead with 1:44 left in regulation until Ram Elizabeth Seitzinger snuck in a quick assurance goal with 00:04 remaining. The halftime score would reflect 9-9 going into the locker room break.
In the second half Philly returned ready to take over the game. After Nyack's Walborn (Karis) cut the lead to one, Philadelphia rattled off five straight goals to eventually pull ahead 16-11. Warrior Victoria Lopez-Nash briefly stopped the Rams' momentum, scoring, with an assist from Karly Walborn, at the 19:33 mark to make the score 16-11.
From there Philadelphia would utilize two big runs to extend the score en route to defeating Nyack 24-12. Lauren Lebo led Nyack with 4 goals on the day while Liz Mower led the Rams with 7 goals.
