Lebo & Walborn Honored with Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Recognition

NEW HAVEN, CT

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has released its 2015 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team. Junior midfielder Lauren Lebo (West Simsbury, CT) and junior defender Karly Walborn (Nyack, NY) were named to the All-CACC Second Team, as announced by league Commissioner Dan Mara, after their impressive performances this regular season.

In addition, the Warriors women's lacrosse team was named the 2015 CACC Team Sportsmanship Award winner in the sport for its dedication to promoting the game through positive attitude and work ethic.

The voting for the player awards and team sportsmanship award was conducted by the league's nine head coaches. Voting for coach of the year was handled by the sports information directors throughout the conference.

Lebo has been named CACC Player of the Week this season as the midfielder sits in 4th place among the CACC's indivdual top-10 offensive leaders for the most goals made on the season (47) in addition to leading the league in assists (13), points (59), and shots taken per game (88). Lebo also represents Nyack among many categories in NCAA Div. II as the Warrior has netted 143 career goals which include 46 goals on the season to go along with 13 assists, 30 ground balls, 114 draw controls, and 15 cause turnovers.

Walborn was tabbed as a CACC Player of the Week along with being Honorably Mentioned earlier in the season. The midfielder has registered 33 goals on the season to go along with 50 ground balls, 50 draw controls, 32 cause turnovers, and 7 assists. Walborn has led in categories nationally among NCAA Div. II with this year being her season debut as a Warrior.

Lebo is one of five selected midfielders while Walborn is one of three selected defenders to be named to the All-Conference second team.
