If you've been to any of the Nyack College Women's Lacrosse games this season, you may have noticed the green tape on their sticks or green pre-wrap in their hair.
CACC women's lacrosse teams have come together and decided to sport the green color during every game this season in support of the Post University women's lacrosse team who lost a teammate earlier this year.
"The CACC has had many successes this year and I believe that is due to every team banding together. Just like we celebrate the CACC achievements we also want to band together to grieve the loss that occurred. The green initiative is just one way we recognize that, although we compete on the field, we are united," says Coach Reis.
The green tape serves as a visual reminder that, beyond the competition between teams, in lacrosse, athletics, and even in life - we are all on the journey of life together (1Thessalonians 5:11). The symbol also serves as a reminder of how important it is support, love, and act as Christ to everyone around us every day that we are given. Every day and every person is a gift.
