Women's Lacrosse Drops Conference Game to Holy Family University Tigers

Philadephia, PA - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team lost its CACC game to Holy Family University 19-8. The game was played on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field. The loss drops the Warriors' record to 0-8 and 0-2 in CACC play. 

Holy Family would score four times within the first six minutes of the game, before Nyack's Victoria Silvers would score the first Warrior goal of the day with 20:45 to go in the first half. The Tigers would go on to score five more within the next five minutes to gain a 8-goal lead, 9-1. Silvers would hit the back of the net for the second time of the day in the 14th minute, 9-2. The Tigers scored three more times in the remainder of the first half. Victoria Silvers scored her third of the day with 7:40 left in the first half, which eventually finished with a score of 12-3 in favor of the Tigers.

Silvers would also score the first goal of the second half when she was assisted by Abby Wilmot at the 28:36 minute mark. Holy Family answered with two goals of its own, before Nyack would add three goals to their side of the scoreboard. Emily Sigmon, Abby Wilmot, and Julianna Kranes scoreda goal each between the 24 and 16th minute, 7-14. The Tigers would outscore the Warriors 5-1 in the final 15 minutes. Abby Wilmot scored the last goal for the Warriors in the 12th minute. The game finished with a score of 19-8. 

Silvers led the Warriors with four goals and is currently ranked second in the CACC with 29 goals. Abby Wilmot led Nyack with five won draw controls, while Bryanna Brown scooped up six ground balls. 

Up next: Nyack will be back to host Post University on Wednesday, March 29th, on Moseley Field. The game will start at 3:30pm.
