Nyack, NY - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team earned its second CACC win with a 19-2 victory over the Felician University Golden Falcons on Tuesday night. The win improves the Warriors' record to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in CACC play.
The leading CACC goalscorer Victoria Silvers would open up the scoring for the Warriors with a goal after only 20 seconds of play. Nyack would add two more the next three minutes, when Jocelin Wright and Silvers scored a goal each. Felician scored its first of two goals of the day in the 26th minute. But the Warriors would go on a run of eight unanswered goals to take a 11-1 lead. With 10:31 minutes to go in the first half the Golden Falcons would score their second of the night, before Nyack would close out the scoring of the first half with a another Silvers goal to take a 12-2 advantage into halftime.
The second half saw seven more Warrior goals to seal the 19-2 victory over the Golden Falcons. Amongst the goalscorers of the second half was Lindsay Miller, who scored her first collegiate lacrosse goal.
Nyack was led by Victoria Silvers who recorded five goal and three assists, securing her first spot in the CACC goal scoring and point ranking. Abby Wilmot, Jocelin Wright, Julianna Kranes, and Hailey Newell scored three goals each in the Warrior win, while Emily Sigmon led Nyack in won draw controls with a game high of seven.
