The Nyack College lacrosse team hosted the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, with the Warriors starting out strong but eventually falling to a comeback surge by Bridgeport in a 16-5 Warriors loss.

The Warriors opened with a near-immediate goal, as Tori Silvers charged in to score an unassisted goal less than a minute into the game. Melissa Clapsaddle scored the next Nyack goal on a fast break, followed by Julianna Kranes' goal after gaining control of the draw 20 seconds later. The Warriors led 3-0 seven minutes into the game. Bridgeport got on the scoreboard at 7:03 with their first goal, which Nyack quickly answered with another unassisted goal by Silvers at 8:14. With 20 minutes left in the half, a quick goal by Bridgeport led to an 8-0 scoring run by the Warriors' opponents, as Nyack was able to get off some shots but could not score in the rest of the first half after their strong start. The Warriors went into halftime down 9-4.

The second half started with another Bridgeport goal at 32:04 to continue their offensive surge, which Julianna Kranes snapped by putting the ball in the back of the net with an assist from Courtney LaTorre at 34:09. Her goal sparked the Nyack offense to continue to charge on Bridgeport's territory, but the Warriors were unable to score again. After a Bridgeport score at 37:02, Nyack held their opponents scoreless for the next 10 minutes, but in the final 12 minutes Bridgeport scored five more goals as the game ended in a Nyack loss.

Julianna Kranes and Tori Silvers led the Warriors offense with 2 goals each, and Courtney LaTorre added 1 assist. Silvers also picked up 3 ground balls. Morgan Kessler had 9 saves as goalie for Nyack.
