Women's Lacrosse Opens Conference Play With Loss to GCU Lions
The Nyack College lacrosse team faced conference opponent Georgian Court on Saturday for their first CACC game of the season, with the Warriors falling 18-5 to the Lions.

Georgian Court came out strong in the first half, scoring three goals in the first three minutes of the game. Jocelin Wright answered on offense for the Warriors with an unassisted goal at 3:47 after gaining control of the draw and charging in for the score. The rest of the half, however, saw the Lions take control on scoring. Nyack was able to force turnovers to keep the ball on their side, but could not put it in the back of the net as Georgian Court's offense got 21 shots in the half. The Warriors went into halftime down 14-1.

In the second half, the Warriors solidified both their offense and defense. Georgian Court started the half with a score in the first two minutes, but five minutes later, Melissa Clapsaddle scored for the Warriors after taking control of the draw. Georgian Court would score twice more, and then Nyack's defense held them scoreless for the next 14 minutes, forcing turnovers to keep the Lions from getting close to the Warriors' side. Clapsaddle scored again for the Warriors at 47:45 on another unassisted goal, followed less than two minutes later with a score from Julianna Kranes on an assist from Tori Silvers. Jocelin Wright scored Nyack's final goal at 50:27 on an assist from Melissa Clapsaddle. Georgian Court scored one more time to close out the game in a Nyack loss.

Jocelin Wright led the Warriors with 2 goals, and Tori Silvers added 1 assist. Melissa Clapsaddle picked up 5 ground balls.

Up next, the Warriors travel to Post University on March 27th at 3 PM.
