The Nyack College Women's Lacrosse team faced off against Chestnut Hill UNiversity in a home conference game losing 16-8. The Warriors honored their three seniors, Julianna Kranes, Kaitlyn Massey, and Isabella Thomas, before the game celebrating their time as Nyack Warrior Athletes.
In the first half of the game Chestnut Hill put themselves on the scoreboard at 24:24 but Nyack came back and scored four goals within the next ten minutes dominating the scoreboard. Jocelin Wright had scored three of these goals, one of which was assissted by Torie Eggers. Chestnut Hill then came back and scored three goals tieing up the game for the first half at 4-4. Melissa Clapsaddle then scored unassisted for the Warriors. Chestnut Hill then tied up the game again with an an unassisted shot. Chestnut Hill was the last to score in the half on a free position shot with 26 seconds left putting them in the lead going into the second half.
In the second half of the game Chestnut Hill dominated the scoreboard. Chestnut Hill was the first to score in this half at 26:28 on a free position shot. Melissa Clapsaddle then scored unassissted two minutes later keeping the score at a close pace behind the visiting team. Chestnut Hill managed to score four goals before the Warriors scored again on unassisted shot by Jocelin Wright. In the last eight minutes of the game Chestnut Hill scored 5 more goals putting them in a far lead above Nyack. Julianna Kranes scored with 6 seconds left in the game on a free position shot but Chestnut Hill ended up taking the win with a final score of 16-8.
Jocelin Wright went 4 for 7 with 2 ground balls and 2 draw controls.
The Nyack College Warriors will verse Jefferson University at a home conference game on Wednesday April 17th at 3:30PM.
