Melissa Clapsaddle Reaches 100th Career Goal

Nyack, NY - Despite their season being cut short the Nyack College women's lacrosse team had reason to celebrate. The Warriors started the season off with a loss, but bounced back only days later with a win over St. Andrew's Univesity.

In their 20-7 win over the Knights, junior Melissa Clapsaddle joned Nyack's women's lacrosse prestigous 100 goal club. Clapsaddle is only the fourth player in Nyack's young women's lacrosse record books to reach the 100 goal mark. She joins former lacrosse standout Karis Walborn (100 goals, 2015-16), as well as current assistant coach Tori Silvers ( 201 goals, 2015-18) and head coach Lauren Lebo (204 goals, 2013-16).

Clapsaddle scored 44 goals and recorded eight assist in her freshman year, and was ranked second in the CACC in draw controls. Ultimately, she was named the CACC Rookie of the Year by the coaches of the league.

In her sophomore year Clapsaddle scored 48 with 13 assists and 110 draw controls.

Despite only playing two games, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic around the world, Clapsaddle managed to score nine goals in the first two games to earn her a well-deserved spot in the Nyack College women's lacrosse record books.

Congratulations to Melissa!
