Houghton, NY- The women's soccer team would fall by a score of 1-2 against the Houghton College Highlanders in the NCCAA Regional Championship game that would have sent them to Florida to play for a national championship.
Houghton would go ahead with two quick goals to start the game. The first came in just the 2nd minute of play. Houghton's offensive pressure continued to surge as they netted the second goal of the game in the 7th minute.
Nyack would then tally their first and only goal 20 minutes into the game. Sandy Garcia lofted a pass to Danielle Page who finished with a header into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.
The second half would host optimal scoring chances for both the Warrior's and the Highlanders but the score remained 1-2, dismissing Nyack from a potential National Championship run.
Despite the tough loss, the lady Warrior's fulfilled Coach Oduro's promises of delivering a successful season, guiding the Warriors to a CACC tournament birth and a victory in the NCCAA East Region tournament. Nyack ends their season with a record 9-9-2
