NYACK, NY - Nyack returned to the field this Tuesday for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against Caldwell University. The Warriors dropped the road game to the Cougars 0-2, and are now 6-5 in conference play.
Caldwell was dominating the first half and got on the scorebaord first, when Gianna Klucker scored of a penalty kick in the 25th minte. The Cougars outshot the Warriors 13-3 in the first 45 minutes and sophomore goalkeeper Julianna Kranes (6 saves) made plenty incredible saves to keep the score at 1-0.
The momentum shifted in the second half and Nyack took more control of the game, creating some promising opportunity for itself. However, none of these were converted into goals. Nyack kept pushing forward, which opened up space for breakaways. One of these saw Emily Valerian score the second goal of the day to seal the 2-0 victory for the Cougars. The game would conclude with a final score of Caldwell 2, Nyack 0. The Warriors were outshot by the Cougars with a margin of 7-21 and Kranes finished the day with 10 saves.
The Women's Soccer team will be back on to the road this Saturday as they face Wilmington University in a conference match at 12:00pm.
