Lady Warriors Look Promising in Tough Last Minute Loss
Nyack, NY- The Lady Warriors welcomed a promising crowd under the bright lights of Nyack High School. Their first home opener did not end in their favor as they gave up a goal in the late second half to Post University. The matched finished with a 2-1 favor in Post. 
Within a matter of minutes the Warriors, Camila Parada, took the first shot of the night at 5:03 to test goal keeper, Hannah Richards on Post. Her save quickly produced an answer back by the lady's in Maroon as Sam Rodriguez shot wide to keep the score at 0-0. As the game possessed, the Warriors had three back to back shots in which the Eagles stopped. The momentum quickly shifted in the Eagles favor as they would contend to have the first corner kick of the night. Samantha Brostek kicked a corner that was headed by Elise Oman and wide. The Eagles immediately followed up with another shot that was saved by Nyack's Goalie, Greta Enloe. She added two more saves before halftime to keep the match at a tie.
The second half produced many intricate set pieces, one of which the Warriors found very successful as Alexia Missett scrambled to finish the corner kick off of Kaelan Kanai. Only minutes later Alexia Misset almost scored her second goal of the day after a fine pass by Parada, but was denied by the post. The Warriors led 1-0 in the game before the Eagles tied it at 56:32. Both teams battled hard to end the game without a 1-1 tie. The Eagles did just that as a scramble after a free kick found Katharina Mertz with a goal in less than two minutes of the game finishing. The Warriors now with two minutes left, needed to tie the game but Alexia Missett's shot at 88:40 would find itself only inches wide. Post ended with a 2-1 victory over the Warriors in their first conference match. The Warriors go (0-1) in conference play.
Alexia Missett led the team with five shots, Camila Parada added three, and Kaelan Kanai with one. Both, Alexia Missett and Camila Parada of the Lady Warriors led the team with two shots each on goal. Nyack also had a 7-6 lead over the Eagles with Corner Kicks as freshmen Keeper, Greta Enloe had six amazing saves over the Eagles four saves.
Looking ahead, the Warriors return to action at Holy Family University for a 12:00 pm Kick off this Saturday (September 16th). This will be their second conference game of the season.
