Nyack, NY- The Women's Soccer team of Nyack hosted Wilmington in a CACC contest that would drop their record to (0-4) in conference play. The Lady Warriors suffered a (6-1) deficit to the Wildcats with a lone goal scored by Camila Parada. The Warriors go (0-13) season.
The first half seemed to fall in favor of the Wildcats as a through ball by Krytsa Memis allowed Loran Wyrough to score at 03:21 immediately after a wide shot by Rebecca Dolhansky. The scoreboard now at (0-1) Wilmington, gave them the momentum to find another through ball pass that Loran Wyrough would score. Within three minutes of the Wildcats second goal, the Wildcats capitalized on a corner kick to now give Wilmington a (3-0) lead over the Warriors. The Warriors managed to hold the wildcats off as they battled defensively to prevent another goal. At 19:35, the Warriors got caught off guard with a through ball from Wilmington's, Alexa Smalley, and then shot right into to Wyrough's second goal of the day. The Lady Warriors managed to play some solid defense for the remaining half an allowing no goal through. Nyack's, Janelle Gabriele, made a shot that was blocked to force a Nyack corner kick. No one would score anymore before the half.
The Lady Warriors caught glimpses of hope as Camila Parada and Alexia Misset each attempted a shot. Keeper for Nyack, Greta Enloe made an incredible save before the Wildcats responded with a finished cross ball off of a header from La'Dae Boykin. Wilmington still wasn't satisfied with the scoreboard, that a (5-0) lead turned into a (6-0) as an assisted goal added another one to their score. However, the Warriors still held on to hope as a rebound block off of Avery Chance for the Warriors, had her teammate Camila Parada on her toes with a tap in the goal to make the score (6-1). Although the Wildcats dominated the rest of the half, Greta Enloe of the Lady Warriors refused to let another Wildcat goal in.
Up next for the Warriors is another home game as they invite Dominican to battle in a CACC match. Game begins at 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 26.
