Women's Soccer Loses at Home To GCU Lions

Nyack, NY- Nyack opened this weekend's homecoming game against Georgian Court with an unsuccessful close. The Lions dominated the majority of the game with a 5-0 win over the Warriors who now sit with a 1-10 CACC standing and 1-14 record on the season.  

It was a game on one goal that was dominated by the Lions. Georgian Court recorded 10 shots in the first 45 minutes. They were able to find the back of the net during majority of the first half with 4 goals to leave the Warriors with nothing. Anissia Fucci would score off of a pass from her teammate, Lizzy Kroon in the 2nd minute of the game. At 16:09 the Lions would score again as Lizzy Kroon shot into the upper right corner. The Warriors struggled to hold the Lions off defensively as they trailed now with 0-3 scoring disadvantage in the 17th minute as Kaitlin Lister's header gave Georgian Court another goal.  The Warriors continued to defensively hold the Lions off Heather Arbachesky has a one on one opportunity with Nyack's keeper and found success. Nyack was unable to produce any goals off of their three shots during the first period, while freshmen goalkeeper Greta Enloe recorded 1 save. The scoreboard now reflected a 4-0 lead for Georgian Court.

The game continued to be one-sided during the second 45 minutes, as Nyack was defending deep and allowed the Lions the majority of possession. In the 51st minute Rose Franze played a throughball to teammate Meagan Murdoco, who scored the fifth goal of the day. The game would conclude with a final score of Georgian Court 5, Nyack 0. The Lions outshot the Warriors 16-4 and Enloe finished the day with 2 saves. Milena Ricken for Nyack had to shots and one shot on goal.

The Warriors continue their season in an away game against St. Rose. Game begins at 6:00pm on October 19th.
