Women's Soccer With Tough Road Loss on Opening Day

The Nyack College women's soccer team traveled to Long Island to partake in the East Region Crossover Challenge at NYIT. The Warriors squred off with the Stonehill College Skyhawks on Friday afternoon in a gam that finished with a final score of 5-0 in favor of the Skyhawks.

Stonehill found the net early scoring their first goal of the day in the third minute of the game. The Skyhawks continued to push forward and added three more goals in the first 45 minutes which ended with the score 4-0.

Stonehill slowed down the game in the second half but was still able to add another goal in the 51st minute, which would eventually mark the final score at 5-0.

The Skyhawks outshot the Warriors with a margin of 18-3. Freshman goalkeeper Nicole Benesch made four saves on the day. Nyack will be back tomorrow for their second game of the East Region Crossover Challenge when they face Assumption College at 11am.
