Sparkill, NY - The Nyack College women's soccer team traveled to the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans for a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon. The game finished with a final score of 0-3 in favor ot STAC. With the loss the Warriors fall to a 1-4-1 overall record.
St. Thomas earned the win with a goal in the first and a pair of scores in the second half. The first goal came in the 7th minute of the game. The Spartans outshot the Warriors by a margin of 10-8 in the first half. Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Hambrick made her first start in the Warrior goal and recorded four saves in the first 45 minutes.
St. Thomas scored two more times in the second half in the 49th and 73rd minute. Hambrick added two more saves for a total of six on the day. The Spartans held the shot advantage with 18-6 during the game.
The Warriors will be back in action this Saturday when they travel to Delaware to square off with the Wilmington University Wildcats in a CACC match. Kick off is slated for 12pm.
