Women's Soccer Falls to CACC Leaders Georgian Court on the Road

Lakewood, NJ– The Nyack College women's soccer team squared off with CACC leaders Georgian Court University on Saturday afternoon. The game finished with a final score of 1-4 in favor of the Lions who continue their unbeaten streak in the CACC. 

THE BASICS:
Final: Georgian Court 4, Nyack 1
Records: GCU (7-3-0, 6-0-0 CACC), NC (2-6-1, 2-3-1 CACC)
Location: Lakewood, New Jersey

GAME SUMMARY:
The Lions dominated the first half and got the majority of the shots off. However GCU was unable to put the ball past Nyack's goalkeeper Nicole Benesch in the first 45 minutes causing the first half to finish 0-0. Two minutes into the second half the Warriors were awarded a penalty, which Camila Parada converted for the 1-0 lead. GCU was also awarded a pk only eight minutes later which tied the game. The Lions scored once more three minutes later to take the 2-1 lead, before they scored two more times in the last 11 minutes of the game. 

KEY PERFORMERS:
Camila Parada scored her first goal of the season and Nicole Benesch recorded nine saves.

Nyack will be back on Tuesday when they host the Bloomfield College Bears at 4pm.
